Through songs, a woman is transported back in time – literally to relive the past with her former boyfriend in The Greatest Hits.
What is The Greatest Hits About?
Having recently lost her boyfriend, Max (David Coronswet), Harriet (Lucy Boynton) is trying to cope with his death. While reminiscing listening to old songs, she is instantaneously transported back in time. It takes her to a specific point in time with her beloved boyfriend, Max. But there is a catch. Once the song is over, she comes back to real time. Even though traveling through time causes her harm, she ignores it in an effort to control her power. In the event that she finds the right song, she could change the past and prevent Max from dying.
In an effort to control what she hears, Harriet where noise-cancelling headphones in public and takes a job at a library. Seeing that her best friend is in trouble, Morris (Austin Crute) urges his friend to to seek help at a grief counseling event. While there, Harriet meets David (Justin H. Min). The two hit it off and become closer. Burdened with the memories of her past love and a new relationship forming in the present, she has. to choose whether or not if she should change the past.
Written and directed by Ned Benson, he came up with the idea of connecting music and memory after reading, Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain in 2008. After several drafts, he nailed down the script. Upon its premiere at South by Southwest, the film received positive critic reviews.

According to the MPA, the romantic, fantasy comedy is rated PG-13 for drug use, strong language and suggestive material.
