What is The Garfield Movie About?
What started as a comic book in newspapers has become a cultural phenomenon. Syndicated in over 2500 newspapers and journals, the character created by Jim Davis holds the Guinness World Record for being the most widely syndicated comic strip. While the physical form of newspapers are a thing of the past, the comic lives on through various tv shows and movies and the internet.
Living with his owner Jon Arbuckle (Nicholas Hoult) and best dog friend, Odie (Harvey Guillén), Garfield (Chris Pratt) lives a stress-free life. As we can see from the trailer below, the indoor cat spends his days eating and lounging around.
Kidnappers take Garfield and Odie, who find themselves in the wild outdoors. In the process, they have an unexpected reunion with Garfield’s father, Vic (Samuel L. Jackson). Vic is a stark contrast to his long lost son. He is a scruffy street cat who has big problems with the wrong cats. As a result, him and his pampered son band together to complete a high-stakes heist.
