The Crow returns to theaters with a remake decades after Alex Proyas’s 1994 cult classic starring Brandon Lee. Meanwhile, the remake stars Bill Skarsgård (It, Barbarians) as the main character. Both versions are based on the graphic novel by James O’Barr.
WHAT IS THE CROW ABOUT?
After their past catches up with them, soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA Twigs) are brutally murdered. While in limbo between life and death, Eric is given a chance to save his true love. He sacrifices himself and sets out on a mission to avenge their murders. In doing so, he travels the worlds of both the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.
In the original 1994 film, Brandon Lee played Eric Draven. During filming, Brandon was shot by a prop gun at age 28. Due to this, the film was said to be curse, especially since his father, Bruce Lee, died young on set. Consequently, the curse was attributed to the Lee curse instead of the movie. Despite, it still took over 30 years for a remake.
WHAT IS THE CROW RATED?
Due to the violence and language, The Crow is rated R.
