The Acolyte
Being the only Star Wars movies or series without an actual war, Star Wars: The Acolyte, will still offer as much action and intrigue as its predecessors. According to the creator, Leslye Headland, the new series is “Frozen meets Kill Bill”.
What is Star Wars: The Acolyte About?
The events of the series takes place 100 years before Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. During this time, there is peace in the galaxy. However, there they have been some mysterious events taking place. Per the official description, the series is “an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past. As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.”.
Other than the official description, not too much is known about the plot for the series. Amandla Stenberg portays Mae, a former Padawan who is now a dangerous warrior. Now, training to be a Sith Lord, Mae will undoubtedly clash with her master, Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) at some point.
As we can see from the trailer, there is a disturbance in The Force. Many Jedi Masters are being murdered. This could be the rise of events to come in future films and series. Per the tagline, “In an age of light, a darkness rises.” According to Headland, the series would explore the “political, personal and spiritual” elements of the High Republic era.
