What is Late Night With The Devil About?
In short, Late Night With The Devil, is about an ambitious late night show host, Jack Delroy, hoping to knock Jonny Carson out of the spotlight. While on the rise, his wife passed away suddenly due to an illness. As a result, he took a short leave of absence from the show. In the meantime, his ratings plummeted. Late Night With The Devil Review
With it’s unique take on found footage films, it starts off really good. Instead of the normal, someone found a camera and plays the footage back, it’s a little different. It begins like an episode of a “where are they now” show. There’s news articles with footage and a voiceover explaining Jack Delroy’s career and the events that followed. Then, the film jumps into the show. It’s almost like you’re watching the 1977 broadcast live with the viewers. During the commercial breaks, the cameras follow the characters behind the scenes to get the juicy details. The show evens looks like a 70s tv show.
The characters and the dialogue were portrayed very well. Learning more about the characters and their motivations was interesting. However, when it gets to the final act, it kind of lost us. It veered from what was making the film work.
In all, we really liked this movie. The style and the characters were great. It is worth watching despite the final act.
Does Late Night With The Devil have an end-credit scene?
Even though Late Night With The Devil the end of the movie could have been summed up a little more, there are no end credits after the credits.
Currently, Late Night With The Devil is playing in theaters. However, on April 19, 2024, you can stream the film on Shudder and AMC+.
