What is Hit Man about?
The film brings the story of Gary Johnson, a part-time psychology instructor who moonlights as a hitman. The director took inspiration from a Texas Monthly story by Skip Hollandsworth. While working with the New Orleans police department, he discovers that he has a hidden taken as a fake hit man. As a result, he works with the NOPD in order to entrap criminals who want someone taken care of.
Hit Man Review
Even though the film is based on a real person, some of the events are fictional. Instead of working for the NOPD, Gary (Glen Powell) actually worked with the Houston police department. And we’re quite sure didn’t didn’t play a part in covering up any murders. Either way, it was fun to see his transformation from cat dad to Rico Suave. Even in the film one of his students notes, “When did our professor get hot?”. Little by little the dad shorts, the hair and the glasses come off revealing the hottie underneath. Even his confidence grows as he portrays different characters such as Russian assassin and a mobster.
In part, the transformation began to occur when he meets Madison (Adria Arjona). With an obvious chemistry, he helps her avoid capture by turning her down. After a confrontation with her husband, another officer learns he has been seeing Madison which is against the rules. Soon her husband ends up dead leaving both Madison and Gary in big trouble.
While it’s not the best movie in the world, we really enjoyed watching this film. The ending seemed a little rushed. Madison’s husband is dead and a few minutes later, the credits were rolling. In addition, the ending could have been better. The film focuses primarily on Gary, his many sting operations and his relationship with Madison. We would have liked to see more about the events that happened when police found out about her husband’s death. It was really one act and then happily ever after. But it’s still a good movie to watch for a date night or if you’re looking for something to watch.
Does Hit Man have an end-credit scene?
Unfortunately, there are no mid or post credit scenes after the film. However, after the the last scene of the movie, you can see pictures of the real life Gary Johnson.
