Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Review
First, let’s talk about the title, Godzilla x Kong. We’re not sure exactly what the “x” means. Maybe it’s supposed to be Godzilla times Kong. Although it should have been Godzilla vs Kong 2 as it’s kind of another version of the previous film. While Godzilla’s name is first, the film is mostly about Kong. We learn a lot about Kong and his origins. On the other hand, Godzilla is mostly traveling around the world absorbing power.
Other than the title, its a film that knows what it is, a monster movie. If you are a Godzilla or King Kong fan, you’ll like this movie. It starts off with a lot of action and the ending scene is very reminiscent of the old monster movie fights. This formula has worked for years. As long as Hollywood makes monster movies, audiences will go see them.
While good, overall, we liked the 2021 movie better. During the middle of the movie, when more of the theology was talked about, the movie was a little slow. As far as the story, I preferred the plot of Godzilla Minus One better. But it’s still definitely worth watching.
Does Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire have an end-credit scene?
Made popular by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it has become normal for franchise films to have mid-credit and post-credit scenes. Unfortunately, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire does not have any end-credit scenes. Once the credits start to roll, you are free to leave the theater without missing anything.
Currently, you can watch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire in theaters. Since the film was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, in the future the film will stream on Max.
