What is Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire About?

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a follow-up to Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Although, it’s fifth film in the Ghostbusters franchise, it’s more like Ghostbusters 4. In the previous 2021 film, Egon Spengler’s daughter, Callie (Carrie Coon) and her children move to his old house in Oklahoma. While there his grandchildren, Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) and Phoebe (Mckenna Grace), stumble upon his old ghostbuster equipment. In the process, Trevor unleashes Zuul who takes possession of Phoebe’s teacher, Gary Grooberson (Paul Rudd). If you remember the name Zuul, he was the villan in the original 1984 film. Luckily, the Spengler family was able to defeat Zuul.

In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family along with Gary now live in New York in the old Ghostbusters firehouse. As the new team, they navigate the job’s challenges including the Ghostbusters’ old nemesis Walter Peck (William Atherton). At the same time, the original ghostbusting crew has developed a top secret lab to take busting ghosts to a new level. But an unfortunately artifact purchase unleashes an evil force upon New York. They must all join together to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

In honor of the movie, select theaters are selling green popcorn to look like it had a run-in with Slimer. If you would like to watch the film at home, you’ll have to wait a little bit.
