Inspired by one of the most popular video games of all time, Prime Video takes on the ambitious project of bringing to life the characters of Fallout.

What is Fallout About?

Although set within the same timeframe of the video game, the series will be an original story. With the failure of other video game film adaptations, executive producer, Todd Howard (Bethesda Game Studios), wanted to avoid a complete remake of the video game.

In the series, it is 200 after before the apocalypse. The world has been decimated by nuclear war. The wealthy live in luxurious fall out shelters while everyone else was left to fend for themselves. Ever the optimist, a young Vault-dweller, Lucy (Ella Pernell), is forced to leave leave behind the only life she has ever known to rescue her father. Along her journey, she meets Maximus (Aaron Moten) and Ghoul (Walton Goggins). Maximus us a squire in the Brotherhood, a militaristic faction on the surface. On the other hand, Ghoul is a mutated gunslinger and bounty hunter who has been alive since before the bombs fell.

While in the brutal, hostile Wasteland of Los Angeles, Lucy becomes caught in a power struggle for the world. An ancient artifact created by a researcher could change the power dynamic of those who suffering in the Wasteland.

This is just the latest adaptation of a video game. While few have been worth watching like the recent Mortal Kombat and the Netflix’s Arcane series, most have been flops. Recent reactions to the trailer has been favorable. With Jonathan Nolan as an executive producer, the series could be a hit.

What is Fallout Rated?

Even though the series is based on a video game, you might want to put the kids to bed before watching it. Due to violence and language, Fallout is rated TV-MA.

How to watch Fallout?

Instead of only streaming the first two or three episodes, Prime Video will stream all eight episodes of Fallout on April 11, 2024. This is one day earlier than the previous release date.
