What is Dark Matter About?
As a former quantum mechanics physicist, Jason Dessen (Joel Edgerton) lives a peaceful life with his wife, Daniela (Jennifer Connelly), and son, Charlie (Oakes Fegley). While walking home one night on the streets of Chicago, he is kidnapped and drugged. When he wakes up, he is in an alternate Chicago. Soon he learns his abductor is himself, well an alternate version of himself.
Having regretted the decision not to marry Daniela, his alternate abducts Jason in order to take his place. Now, Jason races the clock to get back to his true family. Before he can do that, Jason has to wonder through different parallel worlds of lives he could have to lived. Upon finally arriving in his own reality, he embarks on a quest to save his family from the ultimate foe: himself.
The series joins a long line of hit sci-fi Apple Originals including, Foundation, Silo, For All Mankind, Invasion and one of our favorites See. With news shows such as Murderbot and Neuromancer coming soon, Apple TV+ has is becoming a destination channel for sci-fi.

How to watch Dark Matter?
The nine episode Apple Original series will premiere on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on May 8, 2024, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through June 26.

Who is Behind Dark Matter?
In addition to being the author of the book the series is based on, Crouch serves as creator, executive producer, showrunner and writer. Alongside Crouch as executive producers are Matt Tolmach, David Manpearl for Matt Tolmach Productions and star, Edgerton. Finally, the series was produced for Apple TV+ by Sony Pictures Television.
