Deadpool & Wolverine
In the third installment of Deadpool, Marvel Studios delivers the ultimate mutant team-up throw down in Deadpool & Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprise their roles as Deadpool and Wolverine as frenemies in the film. And yes, the adamantium claws are back. While effective, we weren’t fans of the bone claws.
What is Deadpool & Wolverine About?
At the present time, the studios have been tight-lipped about the plot of the movie. Upon releasing the title of the film, many fans were confused. In the film Logan, without the ability to heal himself, Wolverine dies. Although, the exact timing has yet to be revealed, the events of the new film will take place before Logan.
According to the official description, Wolverine is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with Deadpool. After working out their differences, they team up to defeat a common enemy. As we can see from the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer below, some old friends are back. The common enemy is The Time Variance Authority (TVA).
First seen in the Loki series on Disney+, the TVA is a bureaucratic agency that exists outside of time and space. Their main job is to monitor time and keep the sacred timeline in check. To protect the timeline, the TVA sends Deadpool on a mission that could change the history of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and Wolverine.
Seeing that this movie will deals with timelines, we could see some epic team ups. After all, Marvel has a way of intertwining all their movies. With this in mind, there are a few easter eggs seen in the trailer. Towards the end of the trailer, we see the duo leaping into one of Doctor Strange’s portals. In addition, we see a skull inside An’t-Man’s suit in giant form and the Alioth in Loki. Of course, we see Wolverine going toe to toe with Professor Xavier’s twin sister, Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin). Recently, at the CinemaCon event, we know Thor is going to make an appearance. I’m sure a lot more will be revealed as we get closer to the release date.
What is Deadpool & Wolverine Rated?
As we can see from the teaser and trailer below, the film has a strong R rating for language and violence.
