What is Bridgerton Season 3 About?

Set in 1800s London, the Bridgerton series follows the close-knit Bridgerton family, lead by Edmund (Rupert Evans) and Violet (Ruth Gemmell). Between them, they have eight children. While it is their duty to marry for nobility and gentry, each are looking for love and happiness. During this time, it doesn’t always happen.

Chronically all the gossip in town is Lady Whistledown (narrated by Julie Andrews), author of a scandalous society newsletter. She holds nothing back as she dishes out dirt on everyone in high society, including the Bridgertons.

Following the order of the book series, siblings Daphne and Anthony were able to find their true love in the first two seasons. However, season three will focus on Colin, which is the fourth book. To begin with, Eloise’s friend, Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), has had a huge crush on Colin for the last two seasons. After the events of season 2, she has finally given up on having a relationship with him. Besides, it’s time for her to marry someone who will provide her enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown. Be that as it may, her lack of confidence is making it almost impossible.

Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and swagger. Soon, he realizes the only person who appreciates him is Penelope. Even though Penelope has moved on, Colin devises a plan to teach her how to gain confidence in hopes to win her back. As the belief in herself grows, Colin begins to see her as more than a friend. At the same time, Penelope’s presence among high society is making it hard to keep her alter ego a secret. What’s more, Eloise and Penelope are not on good terms. Her friend is now palling around with someone else, furthering the strain between them. As we can see from the Bridgerton season 3 trailer below, it will be as juicy as the first two.
