Making his directorial debut, Moritz Mohr borrows the best scenes from graphic novels to make the revenge movie, Boy Kills World.
What is Boy Kills World About?
In the film, Bill Skarsgård stars a Boy. As a child, Boy is young boy with a vivid imagination who loves playing video games. While living with his family in the jungle, they are murdered by a deranged female dictator, Hilda Van Der Koy (Famke Janssen). Leaving him deaf and voiceless, the boy is now alone in the world with one exception. He keeps company with the ghost of his rebellious little sister. Using his imagination, he uses the voice of a character from one of his favorite video games to be his conscience. Listening to his inner voice, he vows revenge.
While in the jungle, he comes across a mysterious shaman (Yayan Ruhian). Not only does the shaman take him in, he trains the boy to be an instrument of death. Having mastered martial arts skills, Boy is set loose on the eve of the culling of dissidents. As he works his way to Hilda, he leaves a trail of bodies and mayhem. During his rampage, he soon falls in with a resistance group who helps him.
Skarsgård is no stranger to action. Made famous for is potrayal of Pennywise the clown in Stephen King’s It, he has appeared in different roles including John Wick: Chapter 4. For this reason, he now stars as the lead in the reboot of The Crow and Count Orlock in Nosferatu remake. Receiving favorable reviews after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, the movie is sure to be one bloody, wild ride.
