Despite a little bit of a slow start, Bridgerton season 3 is one of the best seasons to date for the show with a roller coaster of emotion. This season is packed with juicy gossip, drama, betrayal, joy, forgiveness, love and of course sex. We’ll cover as much as possible in this review without spoiling too much of the bombshells.
What is Bridgerton Season 3 about?
In short, Bridgerton revolves around the eight siblings of the Bridgerton family. Each are trying to navigate high society, friendships and rivalries. With each season, the series tells the story of one or two siblings quest to find the perfect partner amongst the chaos.

Considered to be a wallflower, Penelope uses the pen name Lady Whistledown as a voice for all the gossip in London society. Due to her hovering mother, she enlists the help of Colin to find a husband so she can get away from her family. As her confidence grows, Colin discovers his feelings for Penelope may be more than friendship.
Bridgerton Season 3 Review
When we first saw Part 1 released last month, we were a little concerned. All the other seasons, including Queen Charlotte, captured your attention right away. Normally, we don’t watch shows like Bridgerton, but there is something captivating about the storytelling and the characters. The season started out a little slow. It seemed to take too long to get to the point. The whole courtship between Penelope and the jungle guy, Lord Debling, could have been shorter. Although the rivalry between Penelope and Cressida fighting for his affections was amusing. We’re glad that Cressida has more screen time this season. Her character added some extra spice to this season. However, it wasn’t until Colin finally realized that he had feeling for Penelope when the show got really interesting. This wasn’t until the last episode.
During Part 2, things really begin to pick up. Not only do Colin and Penelope finally make a love connection, but there are so many sub-plots that makes this season really juicy. Now that Penelope is with her childhood crush, she’s afraid that he will leave her if he finds out she is in fact Lady Whistledown. On top of that, the Queen is even more determined to discover who Lady Whistledown truly is. To unmask her, she offers a reward to anyone can identify gossip columnist. Of course, the villain of the season Cressida wants to take full advantage. She lies, blackmails and forges in order to get what she wants. The scandal of it all closes the rift between best friends, Eloise and Penelope.
But the true highlight of the season were the last two episodes, especially the last few scenes. It was one of the most tense, heartwarming and rousing episodes we’ve seen in a long time. In fact, those episodes made this season one of the show’s best. Between the turmoil of Colin finding out Penelope’s secret, Cressida’s scheme to make money and the Queen finally unmasking Lady Whistledown, it was a roller coaster ride. With the heartfelt monologue from Colin to Penelope as he realizes he was jealous and Penelopes speech on why the Queen should spare her, we were close to tears.
There are so many different sub-plots such as the Mondriches introduction into society, the spat between Lady Danbury and her brother, Francesca and Violet finding love, Anthony and Kate becoming parents and Benedict exploring his romantic boundaries, we couldn’t cover it all. Even with all that, the story wasn’t too bogged down. The writers did an excellent job of intertwining all the stories. Despite a little bit of a slow start, we highly recommend you watching season 3.
Currently, you can stream all three season on Netflix.
