What is Robot Dreams About?
In 1980s Manhattan, Dog lives a lonely life at home. After seeing an advertisement on TV, he decides to order a robot friend. Upon receiving and building his new friend, the pair become best buddies. On labor Day, they go to Coney Island for a day in the sun. However, things take a drastic turn when Robot’s metal parts begin to rust. Without the ability to move, it saddens Dog to leave his friend behind hoping someday they will reunite once again.
What makes this film truly unique is that there is no dialogue. Instead the animated film focuses on the friendship of Dog and Robot, its importance and how fragile friendship can be.
