Speak No Evil
A family’s dream vacation in the countryside turns into a nightmare in the remake of the 2022 Danish film, Speak No Evil, starring BAFTA award-winner James McAvoy.
What is Speak No Evil About?
Ben (Scoot McNairy) and Louise Dalton (Mackenzie Davis), who are in desperate need of a break, decide to take a vacation. While on holiday with their daughter, Agnes (Alix West Lefler), they meet Patrick, better known as Paddy (McAvoy), his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi) and their mute son, Ant (Dan Hough). The British family are quite charming and both families instantly connect. After spending some time together, Paddy invites them to their home at their country estate.
Because of their connection, the Dalton family accepts their invitation. At first, they are all having a good time. But things change when the charismatic Paddy morphs into a homicidal maniac. Their dream vacation has just turned into their worst nightmare.
As we’ve stated before, the movie is a remake of a Danish film of the same name. That film earned 11 Danish Film Awards nominations which is the Danish equivalent of the Oscars. After the first film’s success, Blumhouse bought the U.S. rights to develop the film for the states. As seen in the trailer below, the remake looks intense.
