From George Miller, the man behind the Mad Max franchise, comes a new story about a young girl who vows for revenge after being taking from her home in, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
What is Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga About?
Beginning in 1979, Mel Gibson starred as Max, a man taking the law into his own hands in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world. Since then, there has been several sequels and even a reboot of sorts for the franchise in recent years.
This latest edition serves as both a prequel and a sequel to the 2016 film, Mad Max: Fury Road. Instead of focusing solely on Max (Tom Hardy), we meet a new character, Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron). She is a lieutenant in the Immortan Joe’s army that captures Max. However, she betrays Joe taking his wives and Max with her. After receiving critical acclaim and Academy Award recognition, Miller decided to expand upon the character.
Serving as the fifth film of the franchise, the events take place 15 to 20 years before Fury Road. As a young girl, Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) is living in the Green Place of Many Mothers. In a world made up of mostly wastelands, the “Green Place” is the only place on Earth where plants still grow. The all-female civilization lives in peace despite the world around them. Separated by her clan, she is kidnapped by a Biker Horde led by Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth) where she finds herself in the employ of Immortan Joe. While war rages, he must survive many trials while she plans to find her way back home.
What is Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Rated?
