Based on true events, Under The Bridge, uncovers the hidden world of teenagers accused of a savage murder of a 14-year old girl.
What is Under The Bridge About?
Inspired by true events, Under The Bridge, follows the events in the book of the same name written by Rebecca Godfrey. In 1997, fourteen year old, Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta) goes to a party with some friends. She was never seen again. Through the eyes of the author, Godfrey (Riley Keough) and a local police officer, Cam Bentland (Lily Gladstone), the series follows their journey to find answers.
During the investigation, Cam discovers that another teen saw something related to Reena’s death. With this in mind, she realizes the unthinkable, that teenagers may be the culprits. No sooner than later, seven girls and one boy are accused of the murder. After hearing the news, Godfrey arrives in town to help. “I’m writing a book. People twill tell me things they’re not going to tell you.” she says in the trailer.
According to the voiceover in the trailer, “This is a tale of horror and wonder, of innocence and beauty, violence and sin. This story would haunt the island for years to come. It forever changed a fact that young girls were the ones we were supposed to protect, not be protected from.”
Fresh off her best actress awards at the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards for Killers of the Flower Moon, it’s been a busy year for Gladstone. As the first Native American to win, she has made history. In fact, she is first Native American nominated for best actress at the Academy Awards.
Recently starring in Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & the Six and the granddaughter of Elvis, Keough has earned several nominations at the Golden Globe Awards and the Emmys. As we can see from the trailer, their performances may earn them a few more.
