Criminals get more than what they bargain for when they kidnap a not so quite normal 12-year old ballerina in the movie, Abigail.
What is Abigail About?
Back in 2014, Universal Studios began reimagining their of monster movies with the Dark Universe with the release of Dracula Untold. With the low performance of it and The Mummy starring Tom Cruise, the studio decided to take the franchise in a different direction. Based more in reality, the studio found success with movies such as The Invisible Man.
Since the latest film is based on the daughter of Dracula, the original title was Dracula’s Daughter. However, to give the film a fresh take, studio executives renamed it, Abigail.
In the film, a group of criminals receive an offer they can’t refuse. To share in a bounty of $50 million, their job is to kidnap a young girl and watch her overnight. It’s seems simple enough.
After her ballet recital, the criminals devise a plan to abduct the 12-year old. Per very specific instructions, they take her to an isolated mansion. As shown in the trailer, they become barricaded in the home. In due time, they realize the innocent ballerina is a vampire. As a result, the kidnappers try to survive by trying to kill the young bloodsucker.
What is Abigail Rated?
