Talk To Me Review
A group of friends create a new “high” when they conjure spirits in Talk To Me, one of the best horror movies we’ve seen in a long time. Here’s our review of Talk To Me.
What is Talk To Me About?
Created by Youtubers, Danny and Michael Philippou, known together as RackaRacka, Talk To Me centers around 17-year old Mia (Sophie Wilde). For the past two years, she has been struggling with her mother’s suicide. She learns of some people at school who possess a hand that allows you to communicate with the dead person’s spirit. Using it as a new way to get “high,” the ceramic hand becomes a party trick. Holding the hand and reciting, “talk to me” allows you communicate. When you say “I let you in,” the spirit can possess you.
To this end, Mia, her best friend Jade (Alexandra Jensen) and Jade’s boyfriend, Daniel (Otis Dhanji), go to the next gathering. In the hopes of speaking with her mother, Mia is the first to try it out. Becoming hooked on the new thrill, one session goes terribly wrong. As a result, they unleash a terrifying supernatural force.
Talk To Me Review
As stated in the video above, this movie will grab you by the hand and not let go. Beginning with the first scene, it’s so intense, you’ll get a feel of how the movie will be. This is before we even get to the main characters. Once the story starts to unfold, Sophie Wilde’s performance helps catapult the movie even more. Her portrayal of a grieving teen missing her mom is heartbreaking. From the unsettling seance scenes conjuring the troubled souls of the bereaved to the final scene of the movie, you will be entranced.
The Philippou brothers did a spectacular job and bringing this movie to life. Along with us, both critics and audiences loved this movie. The movie was so popular that A24 began selling a life-sized ceramic Talk to Me Party Hand in which the initial orders sold out quickly. There is currently a waitlist.
