His schedule has been packed with shows and movies including Loki, Kung Fu Panda 4, Netflix’s The Electric State and his latest film, Love Hurts.
What is Love Hurts about?
Marvin Gable (Ke Huy Quan) is your average guy. He lives a mundane life as a mild-mannered realtor in the Milwaukee suburbs, where ‘For Sale’ signs bloom. If you were to see him, you wouldn’t think anything of it. But he’s carrying a dark secret. He used to be a hitman.
One day, he receives a crimson envelope from Rose (Ariana DeBose), his partner-in-crime he left for dead. And guess what? She’s not happy. Now, he’s thrust back into a world he thought was a distant memory. Not to mention his brother Knuckles (Daniel Wu), a crime lord is also hunting him. Instead of guiding clients through open houses, they have become war zones he must survive. In either case, Marvin must confront the choices that haunt him and the history he never truly buried.

The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 7, 2025. Since the film will be distributed by Universal Studios, the film will release on Peacock sometime in the future.

How is behind Love Hurts?
Originally, the film was titled With Love with Luke Passmore, Josh Stoddard, and Matthew Murray writing the screenplay. However, once filming wrapped, the movie was retitled to Love Hurts. Making his feature film debut, veteran stunt coordinator and fight coordinator Jonathan “JoJo” Eusebio signed on as director. His resume includes a long line of films featuring Black Panther, The Avengers and the John Wick films. His fellow stunt coordinators 87 North’s Kelly McCormick and David Leitch serve as producers with Ben Ormand as executive producer.
