Back in Action
It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 10 years since Cameron Diaz was last in a movie. Now, she is back in action with her Any Given Sunday co-star Jamie Foxx. In fact, her last film, Annie, features her co-star Foxx.
What is Back in Action about?
After working for the CIA for years, Matt (Jamie Foxx) and Emily (Cameron Diaz) decide to hang up their spy hats for a quite life at home. As a result, they start a family and begin to raise their two kids, Alice (McKenna Roberts) and Leo (Rylan Jackson). Unfortunately, their idyllic family life is turned upside down when their cover is blown. To that end, they are thrust back into the world of espionage. At the same time, they must explain their past to their kids.
How to watch Back in Action?
Originally, Back in Action was scheduled to stream on Netflix in November 2024. Ultimately, the film was pushed to its current release date January 17, 2025.
What is Back in Action rated?
The film has a rating of PG-13 for sequences of violence and action, some suggestive references and strong language and brief teen partying.

How is behind Back in Action?
The film is directed by Seth Gordon with a script from Gordon and co-writer Brendan O’Brien. Datari Turner and Mark McNair join O’Brien as executive producers on the project. Other producers include Beau Bauman for Good One Productions and Gordon for Exhibit A.
Filming took place mostly in London and Atlanta. Although filming wrapped up in late April 2023, some scenes were delayed. In mid April, Jamie Foxx was hospitalized for a medical emergency. As a result, body doubles were used for the remaining scenes.
